The plan behind the Carl Martin TOD was to create an updated and improved version of Tim's original sound—a pedal that captures the essence of that era while offering modern refinement and reliability.

The TOD high-gain overdrive was originally designed as the "Limited Edition Dizzy Drive," a special project celebrating Dizzy Mizz Lizzy's reunion tour. Only 500 original Dizzy Drives were built, and they sold out incredibly quickly in both Denmark and Japan. Given the overwhelming demand and the pedal's importance to Danish rock history, it only seemed fair to release the pedal again as part of Carl Martin's Classic Series.
